I had 1,245 photos on my camera.
Last week, I devoted my time to removing the files on my data card of my Nikon D750, which I carried with me almost every day while we were in Peru. My plan was to use my smartphone to capture video, my D-SLR to capture stills.
It didn't always work out that way. There were days where I used my smartphone to capture still photos, when I required a quick shot or when the lens on my camera wasn't wide enough for what I needed for the shot.
Also, while we were at a clay lick in the Amazon basin, I used my D-SLR, with my 200-500mm lens attached, to capture video of birds who were just too far away for my smartphone.
It took me most of last week—from Tuesday morning until Friday night—to go through all of my files, pick out the photos I liked, and edit them. And this week, I'd like to share some of the best ones with you.
Today, I'd like to start with some highlights of Cusco. We spent three evenings in the Incan capital city, and even though the elevation was hard on my lungs, it's a city I would love to visit again.
Tomorrow, I'll share some photos from Machu Picchu. Stay tuned.
