As I had suspected, I wasn't going to settle for the new template.

A few weeks ago, at DW's recommendation, I changed tired layout of my blog. I chose a template that seemed fresher—DW said that if I'm looking for a job and reference my blog, it needed to be more eye-catching.

I quickly found a new template that I liked. It was still dark, like my old template but it abbreviated each post on the main page. Accompanying photos were larger in the preview appearance.

But I wasn't quite satisfied with this new template, even after customizing some elements. I decided that I wanted something brighter, something that was quite different from my original template.

So I went with a lighter theme, called Soho. I chose the theme you're seeing all around you, right now.

The only modification to this template was to add one of my own photos to the header (by default, there's a cat) and to widen the body, where the main content appears. Doing so made any accompanying photos for a post stand out larger.

After all, I highlight my own photos in my blog posts, and bigger is better.

Since I've changed the template, I feel more inspired to write. A month or so ago, I was tempted to take another break from The Brown Knowser, to focus on making more videos and to pursuing new hobbies (though, I didn't know what new hobby I would take up).

But there's that adage: a change is as good as a rest, and seeing the new look of my blog, I feel that I want to fill it with new content.

Hopefully, it'll be good content but only time will tell.
