If you read any of my posts from last week, you may have learned that this month marks 20 years since my wife and I first arrived in Chŏnju, South Korea, to teach English as a second language in a private academy, known as a hagwon . It was a life-altering experience that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives. A new culture, foreign language and customs, an economic collapse, political unrest, constant threats of attacks from North Korea, and more. To celebrate this anniversary, I've decided to throw in a copy of my novel, Songsaengnim: A Korea Diary , to whoever solves this month's photo challenge, Where In Ottawa .
