It's not an angle I had ever seen before.
Indeed, not even a tour boat or private motor craft would get you this low to the water. But DW and I took our kayaks on the Ottawa River, last weekend, and paddled to the base of the Rideau Falls.
Before then, I had only photographed the falls, where the Rideau River comes to an end and tumbles into the Ottawa River, from above or from across the Ottawa River, on the Québec side. If you've followed this blog long enough, you've seen plenty of those shots.
For Photo Friday, I'm only sharing my favourite of my shots. More will likely follow, on Instagram.
This was my first time visiting the falls in my kayak: it won't be my last.
