The Windiest Wind

The winter tires are on our vehicles but we're not ready to put our kayaking gear away for the season quite yet.

Granted, it's now been a couple of weeks since we've dipped our paddles in the water but we're keeping our fingers crossed that there's still one nice day ahead, before the snow comes. In fact, we have a tentative date to meet with some friends to close out the paddling season, this coming weekend.

The last time that DW and I sat in our kayaks, we ventured into White Lake, in Renfrew County, about an hour west of Ottawa. Our Paddlefolk joined us on what will be our last kayaking adventure of 2025, and we put our kayaks into this vast lake on the north end, in the town that bears the same name.

The wind was gusty and forecasts told us it could exceed 60 kph. We agreed that we wouldn't venture too far on this 16K-long lake but at least the wind was coming from the south-east and would be at our backs as we returned to the put-in spot.

It was the windiest wind that ever winded us (you'll see). Have a watch:

So, this was the last paddle that we've done but we're hopeful that it wasn't the last one of the season. If you enjoyed the video, please give it a Thumbs Up and subscribe to the channel.

Happy Monday!
